The day's falling,
As the night
Slowly rises in challenge.
Bringing with it
Armies of zombie teddy bears,
Legions of vampire dolls,
Hordes of nightmare kittens.

Interesting mix of stuff,
Violence and sweetness,
Horror and attraction.

Undead radios blare their
PR and nationalist message,
Filling the air with the sweet
Tune of propaganda and lies.

The Statue of Liberty is
Dancing down the street,
Stripping off her robe,
While her book and torch
Lie forgotten in the gutter.
Give her money, 'cuz she'll
Do anything and everything
You want or think you need.
Anything and everything.
She's whoring herself out
For a few bucks more.

Light the fuse,
Redecorate the halls,
With the red and gold
Of explosions and violence.

Join the dance, the parade
In the streets. They will
Join us soon, they have to.

Who are they?

Who knows?

Let's go forth and have fun,
Forgetting all our fears and
Our mortality. Leave your mind
Far behind at the door.

Set souls alight, just watch them
Dance in in the twilight struggle,
Lighting up the teddy bears
As they destroy the world around us.

What is it?

Are you afraid?

Spaceships racing into oblivion,
Flown by ghosts and robots,
Working together in eternal harmony;
All while chased by paper bats,
Plaster rats, and plastic cats.
Just because I have no other idea what to call this thoroughly nonsensical poem.

I don't mean to make any political statement with it, but can I help it if the analogies are true?

And no, I am perfectly sober at the moment. Even if it might not sound like I am. :|

Also, I am just trying to figure out how this "Creative Commons" thing works... I think I've got it figured out... Think. :hmm: I doubt I'm ever going to need it though...

Sad thing is - this can sum up the US ._.
You could say that...
"The Statue of Liberty is
Dancing down the street,
Stripping off her robe,
While her book and torch
Lie forgotten in the gutter"

Wonderful excerpt. A great political statement.
Well, I didn't intend for it to be politically charged, but...

This was really interesting. I loved it ^^
I have to admit, it was a little more political at times than I preferred, but it was just stream of consciousness...
